London, Florence and Rome Part 1

Just returned from London, Florence and Rome. Will have lots to discuss in the coming weeks.

We visited 3 wineries in Chianti that you should checkout. Scalette http://www.poggioscalette.it/eng/home.html, La Massa http://www.lamassa.com/ and Montefili https://www.vecchieterredimontefili.com/en/. Each makes exceptional wines and you can find some of them in the US.

We drank the 2016 La Massa La Massa last night and it is very good. $19 locally. Rustic, earthy and the fruit come through as it opens up. A very nice wine.

My garden is all set and have already harvested kale, lettuce and bok choy. The farmers markets are in full bloom here in NJ. However I think that you need to be careful about buying produce that is not local. It appears as if vendors are using farmers markets to sell ordinary produce that you can find in a supermarket. Know your vendors and make sure that what you buy is being harvested locally when you buy it.

Enjoy.
